This Update is for both the 177B and 177RG versions Be sure to read the instructions included with the Cardinal Update (.PDF format) . These instructions explain how to install the Cardinal to FS2004 / Flight Simulator 9, which must first be done before you install the update!
NOTE: Installation of the Cardinal to FS2004 will be from either your Cardinal download file or your CD-ROM. What is in the update? Not very much, as the Cardinal was very much compatible with FS2004 when it was first released. However, the following has changed: 1. The FS2002 default GPS has been replaced with the Garmin® GPS 500 moving map GPS that comes standard with FS2004. NOTE: Unlike the FS2002 version, and its smaller GPS unit, the larger GPS 500 unit will ONLY appear on the 2D panels and VC panel of the Cardinal that utilizes the "All Bendix-King Instruments", this is avionics option number 2 in Config-o-Matic. The other two avionics options will only feature the GPS 500 in a pop-up panel window, as there is simply no room in the panel for the GPS 500 with the older, larger radios these other two radio stacks feature. 2. Gauge sounds have been updated to comply with the latest standards of Direct X 9, which is required by FS2004. 3. Additional click spots are now active in the Virtual Cockpit 4. A revised Orientation Manual that covers both the Cardinal FG and RG in both FS2002 and FS2004, and also includes all of the performance charts / weight & balance charts for both aircraft is also available. This revised manual is available here: 5. That's it!
