There's an interesting story behind 84 Charlie, and it can be seen in
the above photos. Just after we photographed the real aircraft, it went
into the paint shop! This, of course, provided for our second paint scheme.
The original scheme that was on the aircraft when photographed is the
brown scheme, and the new one is the red.
The RG's paint scheme is the same as that appearing on the real N33267,
a 177RG owned by Keith Peterson, web master of Cardinal Flyers On Line.
A web site dedicated to Cardinal owners and pilots throughout the world.
The 177 features all the expected moving parts and features that one
would find in the best Gmax® models, and we've included some others:
Moving sun visors, tie down ropes, chocks, and pitot cover.
The aircraft model, of course, features the ever-popular "reflections",
a trade mark of Gmax® designed aircraft, but we have kept these reflections
to a realistic level. 84 Charlie is not a flying piece of "chrome",
and neither does the real aircraft, even with its new paint, sport a deep
luster metallic paint scheme with a clear coat on top; save that for fine
automobiles!
Many of the textures on the model are from original photographs, and
the majority of skin lines and rivets are faithfully reproduced. You can
even see the peeling paint around the back window in the old paint scheme.
